Discovering large populations of spiders on your property is an indicator of an overall pest problem. Spiders only invade areas that provide them easy access to their insect prey. Spider and insect infestations go hand in hand. The biggest reason that spiders are in your home is that they have followed their insect prey indoors, so if you have spiders in your space there’s a good chance you have other pests such as roaches, earwigs, mosquitoes, flies and more. Unlike other insects, spiders have 8 legs, no antennae, and only 2 body regions. They are called Arachnids. Spiders are predators and primarily feed on other insects. Some larger species have been known to feed on small animals, like lizards and baby birds. Spiders have fangs that inject venom into their prey. With the exception of a few species, the venom in spider bites is usually harmless to humans.
The best way for you to recognize a Wolf Spider is by the eyes. Wolf Spiders have a horizontal row of four smaller eyes. Above those four eyes, is a pair of larger eyes and above those, is another pair of smaller eyes.
The black widow distinct. The female of all the species is mostly black with a distinctive red hourglass pattern on the underside of its abdomen. They can inject a potent venom with their bite with potential severe medical effects
Yellow Sac spider bites occur most frequently when this defensive spider is trapped in clothing. Sac spider bites are not considered as serious as those of the brown recluse or hobo spiders, and the severity varies.
